About NomadiCoach
The short answers:
Life's a journey, so let's go ... for those with a perception of time shortage I'll keep it short n sweet.
My mobile apartment & office just happens to be a 12.5mtr (40ft) Coach.
There's always more to the story, and you know what they say about assumptions!

Hi, I’m Renee … the human behind Nomadicoach and the large bus that’s currently becoming my tiny home and office on wheels. I’m building a life that blends curiosity, creativity, and long country roads … taking my work and creating new stories in places where the stars are bright and the ‘traditional’ phone signals occasionally die. Yet, there is always the UHF to keep me connected… I’ll figure out how to use it soon!
Welcome to my corner of the interwebs … I’m sharing who I am, why I’m doing this, and what the bus life and bus conversion is all about.
Who I am?
Because I’ve always been thrown in the deep end of life - my very first job was motherhood. Since then I’ve worked across industries, corporate & private business, marketing, and mental health for years, and I’m endlessly interested in how people change or stubbornly refuse to … especially when life invites (or shoves) us into a new chapter or leaves us hanging in a transition phase.
As a hypnotherapy practitioner and coach with a focus on dissolving limiting beliefs so people can make clear, aligned moves. You’ll see that thread in my writing and projects, but this page isn’t about services — it’s the story behind the journey.
I’m practical, values‑led, and allergic to pretence. I like straight talk, deep questions, creating and building things that actually serve a purpose and make life more exciting … including motorcycles, and apparently, heavy vehicles. I guess I think about life in systems and mechanics and see how everything is connected in one way or another.
Why a bus?
Short version: freedom, focus, and community building.
Longer version: I needed more control my own time, and allow myself the grace to heal, get out of the inner-city chaos and noise, and make space for meaningful work and conversations. Converting a coach lets me travel Australia, spend time in regional and remote areas, and meet people where they are. Especially folks who don’t always have easy access to services or support in the major cities. It’s an honest version of a “freedom lifestyle”, not necessarily the Instagram or postcard version.
More like sawdust, red dirt, compost toilets and camp style dinners, and a stubborn, yet true, belief that life can be designed on purpose.
This chapter kicked off in Brisbane in Oct or Nov 2019, when I signed up for Truck School, and become a reality in September 2020 when I passed the test (first try) and got my Heavy Rigid (HR) licence for my birthday.
Because if you’re going to do a project, you may as well make it a 12.5‑metre one. A girls got a big dream, no more playing small!
Also, I’ve always wanted an excuse to own more power tools (because tools don’t count when budgeting). Mission accomplished.
Life on the road (in progress)
Right now you’ll find me learning as I go, documenting the wins and the “would not recommend” moments, and sharing real‑world lessons from the build. When I’m not wiring, sanding, painting, installing something, or negotiating with a stuck bolt … I’m writing, photographing big skies, researching and chatting with locals who know the best place to source bus parts, get the best pizza or which Aussie small towns, rainforests, mountains and beaches they’d recommend.
If you’re after the nuts‑and‑bolts of the conversion, the Bus Conversion Blog is where I post build progress, layouts, parts & products I’ve tried and tested (and sometimes returned), and the “what I’d do differently” notes.
A long way from retirement – if ever?
Alongside the build and travel plans, I work with people on clarity, mindset, behaviour change and also building their personal brand and business growth — primarily through coaching and hypnotherapy modalities like RTT (Rapid Transformation Therapy) and QHHT (Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique), with ongoing studies in related approaches. If you’re curious, there’s more elsewhere on the site. If not, no worries — enjoy the bus.
About the bus
Size & bones: A 40‑foot (12.5 m) 1999 MAN coach, Body built by “Great Northern Bus Company”, and now becoming a mobile apartment and office.
Bus Origin story: Formerly owned by Willunga Coaches, a StarBus and then a Kanga Coaches Schoolie –> she had been used as a ‘backup’ school bus/coach (I assume due to her age & some lack of love and maintenance).
In October 2022, after searching for a bus since March (soon after I left Brisbane) I contacted a number of local bus companies and only 1 responded. After some negotiation, they delivered the bus in Late October 2022. It’s been a gradual process ever since.
Status: DIY conversion in progress. I’m learning publicly and sharing what works, and more importantly, what I’d change or never do again over on the Bus Conversion Blog.
Purpose: To live more simply, travel Australia, and spend time in communities outside the metro bubbles. A freedom lifestyle that allows me to do the work I was meant to do and location freedom to meet my need to explore.
Design vibe: Comfortable, functional, and easy to clean & maintain — a real tiny home on wheels, a practical workspace, and as little clutter as possible.
How I plan: Sketches, 3D modelling, tape on the floor, and a lot of re‑measuring (because nothing in a bus is square). After doing the basics, I’m living in her as I build (not 100% recommended), to make sure the layout is going to work in a practical sense.
Current lessons: Every plan needs a Plan B, patience is a tool, and Bunnings trips are cardio & sometimes weighted workouts. Many parts of the Build, particularly tinting the windows was 70% yoga, 30% patience.
If you enjoy honest DIY builds, life experiments, and an occasional self‑deprecating laugh at my own expense, you’re in the right place. Welcome aboard, I hope you enjoy the ride.
