Plans for the bus conversion: Sketchup Pro

I've created plans the bus conversion plans with sketchup pro, which is to scale, so I can see what will fit and what won't (As you can see in the screenshot)

I've been wanting to do this for a few years and even though I got my open HR licence in 2020 ... I only purchased the bus in late 2022. The Bus itself is a MAN 18.310 model, 8 speed hi/lo manual gearbox, with a 6 cylinder turbo diesel engine that was fully rebuilt/reconditioned in 2021. The bus itself had a bunch of defect rectified around the same time with a lot of the rust repairs already done I was super happy ... however there's always the hidden surprises once you actually start striping out he bus, as you can see with the missing floor that had soggy wood and rusted metal concealed below the lino. Once the seats were out, it became evident it had to be ripped out.

Planning had to wait until I could get the measurements from the actual bus, as there are many different body types depending on the builder.

To say it's a massive project is an understatement, and I wasn't expecting to have to rip up the floor due to water damage so that slowed things down a bit, I did however learn a lot! Now I know how to repair it if I need to in future, so it's actually a good thing because I've had to learn rust repairs and working with metal ... I've also recently learned to weld and having the a mini mig-welder on hand is brilliant.

Winter & freezing weather is my cryptonite, as I've needed to move to South Australia from Brisbane, QLD to be able to do this project, and that's a bigger story in itself which I'll link here eventually. So it's been slow going so far. Trying to figure it all out when I've zero experience in building, although I've full lifecycle project management experience with commercial furniture, this is a whole new level, because it will be an apartment on wheels.
